Kentucky Trip 2010 - part 3

We ended our trip with a day at Churchill Downs, for rainy races over a sloppy surface. Because of this though, we were able to stand right at the finish line, which wouldn't have been possible on a nice day with a full crowd.

And we got extremely lucky too! I tried to take a picture of the superfecta I hit on the tote board, but all you can see in the picture is that it was 4 figures.

We also got to visit Old Friends, which is a retirement home for racing thorougbreds. We met a lot of famous racers, like Awad and Wicked North, and Kate made friends with the horse that played Seabiscuit in the movie, below.


We went to the Kentucky Horse Park, where we got to meet Cigar, but that picture didn't turn out. Below, I am freezing at Man O War's grave.

Also at the Horse Park, Kate met a Freesian who was very interested in her tea.

And a Rocky Mount Horse who I think looks exactly like Simon.
